I have an ongoing set of work that I am calling the "long canvas animal series". These are four of my personal favorites from it: Pale Antelope, Leopard, Tiger, and Black Rabbit What animal should I draw next?

It has been two years since my cat first started having bad health problems. This is a revamp of an older illustration I made as a fundraiser to get him treatment, which everyone very generously supported. Two years on we know he has IBD for sure, it is hard, but he is still going strong!

Trends that are over in 2026: If the only interaction you offer people is when you think they have something to offer you career-wise👎 Trends that we’re embracing in 2026: Genuine interactions and getting to know someone just because👍

Survived the shortest day of the year and eagerly will count the seconds until the sun sets again after 7 PM like it should be Sunsets before 4:30 PM feel like they are literally draining the years off my life

After three years of tabling again I finally saw a celebrity attending a market I was at (they walked by, but it counts)

This was a very green year for me art-wise, maybe some of these complimentary colors can inform next year's art. Inspired by

I’ve gotten so many scam emails this year that I am absolutely just going to have a lecture on spotting scams as an artist this semester with the Senior class I have, cause I’ve had it with people trying to harm creatives in this way

trans kids should have access to healthcare. same as cis kids. ANYTHING that their parents and doctors think would have a positive impact. Not complicated.

I'm working on a presentation on building websites for students and I gotta say, you all need to make websites! I'm trying to highlight artists I love and please just have a landing page with your email and work experience. I know so many ADs, buyers, etc who WILL NOT work with you don't have them

Hey mutuals! I am looking for artists who I follow who would be open to giving talks to Freshman, Sophomores, and Senior level college classes this upcoming year The talks are an hour or less and are paid. In person or Zoom work well. Just building a roster of folks who could be open to it

My
#artvsartist
for this year! I didn’t draw as much as I wanted again, but I did however work with some interesting clients, important stories, and great art directors and for that I am super grateful. 2026 will be a year of a lot of change for me, and I hope to continue to grow🧡

Hey as a reminder: if someone is talking about health issues (or in my case my cat’s health issues), you do not need to offer advice! They (or in this case I) know their health well, and if they aren’t asking for help you don’t have to give your opinion with only a fraction of information

My cat likes to follow me around and sit with his back to me whenever I go. This has gone on for a very long time and I never really thought about it. Honestly just thought he was hanging out and doing his own thing Recently found out it is a sign of security and that he is “standing guard”🥹

Doing my last markets of the year and told a person buying a print that all my work is hand drawn and they said “oh cool! I didn’t know!” My heart is breaking a little knowing that it doesn’t matter to people

There is a very specific kind of guy that loves to come up to my booth when I’m tabling and ask what I think of AI, and I usually say “it fucking sucks” I’m not sure if they expect me to be polite or want an argument…but they don’t get either!

About five years ago most of my print sales had human subjects, and that changed about two years ago. People started to almost exclusively want animals and food related prints Multiple customers have told me “why would I want a person I don’t know on my walls?”, which I have so many thoughts about

The disappointment when I tell people at a market that my work isn’t fully traditional, but that I work digitally with it too (and fully explain that everything is still 100% hand drawn). They always leave haha

I either came down with food poisoning yesterday or the stomach flu, which is terrible timing for someone who has her long shifts tabling But my roommate stepped up and did it for me (she will be paid handsomely whether she likes it or not) and another friend brought me Pepto I truly feel loved

All quarterly taxes are paid for 2025, all out of state event sales tax payments are paid, so now I can hopefully just push ahead and make some money before the holidays Working for yourself is always hard, but this year has been trying!

I go to the same stores often and I try to be nice to everyone and slowly small bonds grow with the folks who work in these places. I do feel like I live in a 15 minute neighborhood, and I do think this would greatly improve the average person's life if it was more possible for others

My neighborhood is purely high rise apartments and so you get really used to seeing the same neighbors doing their little routines every day. It is a real Rear Window type situation and I think we all handle it pretty respectfully, but I do like to check on what people are watching on TV

I’ll never get over that scam artists have artist specific scams. Like you really have to be a certain type of person to come up with something that promises hope to some of the least financially well off people by and large and then snatches it and whatever funds they have away

Something that I’ve heard time and time again when I am tabling is how much people appreciate me ringing them up and saying out loud their total and asking if that is okay Lots of folks are on a budget, maybe others don’t do the math or realize the price of everything. Always check before they pay!

This is the first market I’ve been at where people don’t assume I am the artist? Or that what I am selling is like hand drawn work? They keep asking “where is this from?” And it very much feels like they are asking if this is just art I find around and print out? I don’t know how to put it to words

I normally walk five miles a day every morning as a routine and when I table I can’t do that. However, if I have an assistant I can walk loops around the space I am tabling when I get a break and work off that energy like a weird racehorse

Falling down a hole of finding a local market going all in on have vendors who sell AI work. Like I promise the craft community here is small, but powerful and has sunk other markets that treat us badly without even organizing. We just collectively leave like we share one extremely frustrated mind

If AI was so profitable all these hobbled together “companies” wouldn’t be hitting up my inbox incessantly, as they are with so many, to try to get me to hock their slop to you. They are desperate to try to get anyone they view as an influencer to sell their stuff, it is the same as any other scam

When you go to buy from an individual creator this season please remember the price at checkout (in person or online) is not what they will see reflected in their account Fees, immediate taxes, and future taxes cut what they would make often in half We price for that, so please be understanding!
