Once again the BlueSky trending list is off the mark. 'Gatwick crash' it says. Click on it and there is not a single post about anything to do with Gatwick. Weird.

AI isn't 'inevitable'. Banning and resisting it isn't 'going against the tide'. We can reject this narrative and determine our own future. But it will be a fight, and it will take greater tech literacy. Which tools are bad and which are not? Who are the bad actors? Which politicians are fighting?

Cape Verde tried to beat Argentina honorably. Paraguay tried to beat France with absolutely shithouse tactics and goonery. The ref sucked. I award Paraguay no points.

We really don't need to see this ref and his mates officiate another match at this world cup. Absolutely useless performance.

Has to be the game of the tournament so far. I can't imagine that Argentina thought for one moment that they were going to have to work that hard.

Got to feel a little for Cape Verde there. They were playing themselves into the game quite nicely before the sodding break in play.

Bluesky's trending topics links are awful now. Don't know if it's vibecoding or what, but often the link brings up a timeline that has nothing to do with the subject. I just clicked on "Stephen Miller", the #1, and it was all LA stuff. Both L.A. and LA as in Louisiana, no Miller at all.

Scotland were a little unfortunate there, what with having to cope with possibly the worst bunch of officials that we've seen at this world cup so far.

This is sad news. Roy Hattersley, best known for being Neil Kinnock’s deputy leader, shaped the Labour Party and British politics. He was a giant of our movement and of that generation of politicians. I met him a few times and he was always kind, thoughtful and full of sound advice. RIP.
