There's tourist nature, like Muir Woods, and locals nature, like Redwood Regional Park. I've never been to the Bay Area's best example of a place that's both, Alamere Falls. There's an informal trail the NPS would really rather you not use. And one of their 3 alternatives starts at the bus!

New SFGate article on the Regional Transit Connections map, and how a modern regional map is as much about inspiring a sense of possibility as it is navigation โ including regional transit and access to parks. This was a lot of fun to be interviewed for, I could talk about this map for ages ๐

It's good to see the new Emerald Bay shuttles coming back this year. The Tahoe region should focus more on fully car free access next -- Greyhound and Amtrak only serve Truckee, with an awful transfer to the lake, and there's one bus a day from Sacramento to South Lake.

The data's out there and a lot of these beaches literally have stops set up specifically for them!
