Well now... I've gotten a lot of new followers here. Where's everyone coming from?

I'm working through the last quarter of my collection as I'm culling it to sell off most of it. I'm been back and forth on Radiant Black. I own the first 25 issues, really enjoyed it, but had to make budget cuts back then and just haven't had the extra cash to catch up.

I had a chance to read a review copy of Excommunicated #1 from Jeremy Robinson and Tiago Palma and published by Vault Comics. This first issue is a really good set up issue that gets the reader introduced to the characters and sys then on their way. Gorgeous art. This comes out next week.

I don't think I've said this here, but back in January I decided to sell my comic collection. I've been getting it organized for the guy who's buying it from me (still). My buying and selling my collection is almost like the fourth turning. It happens almost every 10 years.

I'm just throwing this out there, but I think they're needs to be a podcast focusing on Dark Horse Comics. It could lol at what's coming out now. Interview creative teams. It could also look at older books (because those are still good).

Howdy, folks! I'm going to give this app another look. I'm a recovering comic book addict and podcaster. These days I'm selling off 90% of my comic collection and curating it to something fun.

Got home to see a package of @ignitionpress.bsky.social books had arrived. I ordered these as soon as I knew these were live after SDCC. I'm looking forward to checking all these out. If you're curious, just over to their site and order the First Look book and see what they've got coming.

Ugh. I'm finding no joy in comics or sports cards lately. More stress in trying to collect than fun. I definitely need a break from thinking about either.

While I'll always be a fan of his comics, it was his kind gesture of giving up his room at the hotel at Heroes Con to my friends and I that got stuck in a room with one bed. He was the first comic creator I had ever met and remains one of my favorites. He will be missed.

I looked on Ebay for @topcowofficial.bsky.social promo posters that retailers got over the years... wow! There's a lot! I want some to frame and hang in the home office. It's going to be hard to choose those first couple.

I did grown-up things today. I renewed my medical benefits, and I bought binders for my baseball cards.

I received my copy of Metal Hurlant #1 today from @humanoids.com and their Kickstarter. I'm very curious about this book and look forward to diving into it over the weekend.

Picked up Green Arrow #1 from 1983 yesterday. Also continued with my Superman family purchases. New Action Comics. New Supergirl.

I grabbed a @skybound.bsky.social Battle Beast #1 blind bag today and pulled this cool book.

Good morning! Another weekend has gone by, and another small addition to the reignited Superman collection. I really need to find a local shop that has a $1 bin of DC books.

I'm pretty excited for this new series. Doyle's work on MAW was incredible and I will be at my shop on Wednesday picking up this first issue. I highly recommend you do the same. Pre-order now!

I'm a little late posting these, but here's what I picked up from DC Comics this Wednesday. Lots of goodness left on the shelf, though.

In 2024, I decided I was going to read more Superman comics because I just hadn't been in years. In doing so, I expanded into back issues. When I did that, I opened up to DC Comics back issues. These are the books I picked up this past weekend. My DC collection went from 2 long boxes to 15 short.

Chatter on here lately about comics journalism outlets disappearing. Real talk: it's because they are overextended and under appreciated. If you regularly visit a website or listen/watch a show, stop what you are doing right now and comment, rate, review, subscribe, show them you care. It matters.

The tariffs are going to have an impact on the comic industry, not just in production & printing, but most significantly on your local comic shop when there’s a decline in purchasing non-essential goods. Let’s not cut back or cut off the communities comic shops provide. It’s an essential service!

My calendar is filled with dates I want to remember. The last episode of Image Addiction is a huge one because that show organically grew into something I never planned for and lived beyond my involvement because it had amazing people working on it.

I'm going to let all of you on on something... if that's a version of "bi-polarism" for comic book readers, I probably have it. I just told someone less than a week ago I was completely over reading a certain list of books, but today... I'm kind of interested in getting caught up.

My buddy, Gene Ha, is releasing Mae: The Definitive Edition, through Oni Press. This massive collection book hits the comic shops and bookstores on April 8, 2025. So if you're a fan of quirky fantasy stories with giant cats and magical beasts, check out Mae in April.

I picked up 20th Century Boys: The Perfect Edition Vol 1 yesterday. My son made reference to it when we were discussing another manga, and I had never read it. I applaud Viz Media for the trade dress. It looks amazing.

This quote is from a piece on The Beat that talks about the auction of Diamond's various companies. This quote is interesting, and I wonder why it takes a distributor like Lunar to tell publishers (large and small) to cut back on the variants.

I'm starting to retool my comic collection and purchase books that have meaning to me. Elfquest was the first comic I read as a kid. I've been looking forward to this new hardcover collection for a while, and now I have Vol. 1. @darkhorse.com and @elfquest.bsky.social did an amazing job!

I had a chance to read this week's Witchblade #9 and I really appreciate the slow build and development that's being done with this series. The concern I had with a reboot is the possibility of fast forwarding the story because certain elements would be familiar to long-time readers.
