"For too long, those fluent in the good grammar of civility have deployed decorum to mask agendas of cruelty." I loved this line from @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social so much. So often we prize civility over justice. Using the right decorum over fighting for people's rights and well-being.

Mamdani's speech really felt like a thesis on how to practice politics in a way that is hopeful, pluralistic, and focused on making lives better for working people. And on not falling into the false dichotomy of economic issues versus cultural issues.

My favorite part was about how victory isn’t time to turn off the news - great civics lesson material.

Goddamn, Mamdani is good at this. He's got the juice in a way that very few politicians do.

2025 was the hardest of year my life. I had a mental breakdown over the winter, with the worst anxiety I've ever had in my life. And then had debilitating recurring side effects after going on SSRIs for said anxiety. Oh, and picked up on OCD diagnosis along the way too.
