I restarted Sword Princess just over a year ago in Aug '24. I intended the game to take 5-7 yrs. I'm fine with that. But I'm concerned about spending so much time on my first Steam release. So my upcoming plan is to be to clone the project and make a smaller game in 6-8 months. #indiegamedev

I've gone back and forth a lot on how I feel about implementing player character visuals. Finally decided to do it anyway, and I'm convinced I do like it better. Made some sprites for the feminine iteration of the player character and added them in. #screenshotsaturday #visualnovel

Question for #metroidvania fans. If a game has metroidvania mechanics(i.e. interconnected world, ability gated content etc) and is also a full 3D game; do you still consider it a metroidvania? Like Batman Arkham Asylum or the Metroid Prime series? I don't see many metroidvanias taking this route.
