My Christmas romance binge begins with a new release by one of my favorite authors. I loved reading Charlotte and Brooklyn's journey to finding love with each other again despite everything standing in their way.

I 100% get her position. Believe me I do. But to not recognize the importance of what she symbolizes and step up to that challenge does a massive disservice to all transgender Americans.

What's upsetting me most here is this isn't just a story about McBride. It's a story about whether we can be equally heard in the literal halls of power--the people's House. I know transgender attorneys, staffers, reporters, lobbyists, and interns on the Hill, all of whom are now labeled suspect.

My teaching interns, many of whom I’ve been teaching for a year and a half, got me a new set of dice at our end of the internship dinner. 🥰🥰🥰
