I'm starting to think I need to put image attributions on my slides. I've been reluctant to do that, because it seems self-aggrandising to waste space crediting myself. But, based on the questions I get after every talk, I'm starting to realise it's non-obvious that I'm doing my own illustrations.

Making your conference talk slides? Make the font bigger. Do it again. I know the default font looks ok when you’re looking at it on your laptop but I promise no one can read that from the back If you can’t fit all the words you want on one slide, you have too many words. Make another slide!

Both showers and public transit rides have 3x multipliers to Thinking Time. You'd think stationary bikes would be too because they're both moving and mindless but actually they're 0.5x at best. Long flights have 10x to Thinking Time but only if you're in the sweet spot of tired but not TOO tired

Installing autocompletion might be worth your while here: sdk use java 21 <TAB> With a good enough shell you can even TAB-navigate to your version of choice.

Thanks to you guys I just tried mise and... it's awesome. I was using SDKman through a Fish shell port and it was never on par with zsh (broken completions, etc). mise just... works like a charm!

Agreed. And `sdk use java 25` would be also on the list as most of the time this is what I want and as you I need first to list know the exact version

SDKMan is a handy tool, but some usability tweaks would be much appreciated: - Make the "java" argument optional, if the version is unambiguous (`sdk use tem-21.10` rather than `sdk use java tem-21.10`) - If I say "use xxx" and it's not installed, don't just die, offer to install it then proceed 🧵

If China's emissions had kept growing at previous levels emissions would like, what, maybe a full GIGATONNE higher....the area of avoided emissions here is like deleting the emissions of entire countries. This is happening at a scale that will very clearly have an effect in lessening disasters
