I have never been so furious listening to an NPR program that I normally enjoy (Up First @ayesharascoe.bsky.social). To go to the 2nd largest city in Iowa and interview a gay couple to frame the GUTTING of public schools as "choice" and "free market" by Cory Turner is lazy at best.

I want to have this fight about the Midwest. At one point my office served the greater Midwest region and included Kentucky and I will die on the hill that KY is not the Midwest.

My public library celebrated its 150 years and I got to present on its history. We’ve also just formed our union!!

Iowa has a particular problem. We have Sinclair Broadcasting TV stations & a statewide network of commercial radio stations that pump rightwing garbage into our communities. The far right gobbled up small & medium-sized radio stations that people trusted and shape their opinions.
