Would be funny if they still listed Sanders as QB3 after this.

Phillies infielder Aidan Miller has also been removed from the Surprise roster, along with Carson DeMartini. Bryan Rincon and Dylan Campbell are the Phils replacements.

When I chatted with Trey Yesavage at the 2024 combine, he talked about growing up a Phillies fan. Would be fun if he got to match up against them in the WS:

The Arizona Fall League starts tomorrow but White Sox prospect Braden Montgomery is still a couple of weeks away from appearing in games. The team says his right foot has recovered well from the small fracture he suffered from a hit by pitch, but he’s still ramping up baseball activities.

Jared Koenig’s journey to the big leagues is one of the more unique paths you’ll find. Very cool to see him pitching in the playoffs. A few years ago, he was pitching in obscurity in Australia:

Just before Mason Miller made his MLB debut and back when he was a starting pitcher, I wrote this "what to expect" piece. I tend to be overly optimistic about most pitchers. Even my optimism couldn't match the real thing:

Today is the one-year anniversary of the last home game for the Oakland A's. 2025 has been a nightmare year in general, though I can't help but think it might've been a little better with the hometown team still here. My ode to the Oakland A's from last year:

Watching the Mets, Tigers, Reds and Astros slowly bleed out while knowing at least two of them could make the postseason is not a super strong argument for the third wild card.

On the one hand, the Mariners won’t have anything to play for tomorrow and he is probably due a rest. On the other, Cal Raleigh could pass Maris and Judge tomorrow with one more crack at the Rockies.

the eight non-COVID MLB teams to make the playoffs with the worst regular season finish (last 28 games, six 11-17 teams, two 10-18 teams) have in the aggregate won more postseason series than they have lost. momentum is a thing until it isn’t.
