So sad to hear that Prunella Scales has died. I met her twice when she came up to teach at the actors centre in Newcastle. She didn’t have to come so far North but she was unfailingly kind and absolutely brilliant. I still remember her very helpful notes for me.💔

Today UK authors are protesting against Meta for stealing our work to train their AI model. Authors earn an average of £7000 per year, we are not rich, and yet a trillion dollar company decided it didn’t want to license our work fairly as it was “too expensive” Theft is not a valid alternative.

I support the The Society of Authors Day of Action against Meta who illegally trained their AI using pirated books - almost every author I know is affected.
