The Lib Dems have been clear that Thames Water does not have a future. The rescue deal should be rejected, and the company should be rebuilt as a company for public benefit. Thames Water must work in the public interest and stop charging exorbitant fees for a terrible service.

I was horrified to see the vile antisemitic attack on two Jewish men in Golders Green yesterday. Antisemitism has no place in society, and we must do all we can to root it out. My thoughts are with the victims, their families and the whole Jewish community across the United Kingdom.

I met with Wes Streeting to talk about Summertown GP Surgery. His team have committed to working with local health systems to explore every avenue possible for funding the new site. This is not the end but it was positive to have the opportunity to speak with Wes and get his officials onside.

When I visited the Warneford Hospital, it was very clear the creaking facility needed replacing, so I'm pleased this has cleared a key planning hurdle. There are still issues to be worked through, but I'm hopeful that this is a stepping stone towards world-class mental health care in Oxfordshire.

Making sure that our GP services are revving on all cylinders is key to making sure that patients get the access to NHS services that they need. We are at a crucial moment in securing a new site in Summertown. I raised with Wes Streeting the role of the District Valuer in this process today.

Last week I spoke in Parliament about the Health and Social Care Committee's Community Mental Health Report. We were baffled that there is no waiting time target for mental health like there is for elective care.

The circumstances since the Brexit referendum have changed. Everyone is agreed that we must increase defence spending, but this will only be achievable with an increase in economic growth. What would shift the dial on the economy far more than anything else is a closer relationship with Europe.

Yesterday I met with the Minister for Water, following on from my PMQ where I challenged the PM on the future of Thames Water. She made me aware of panels held by the Consumer Council for Water which will listen to the views of customers. I will update constituents as I hear more about them.

The Mandelson Files released today are damning. The fact that Starmer appointed Peter Mandelson knowing that he had continued a relationship with Jeffery Epstein after his conviction in 2008 shows serious lack of judgement. This release is only the beginning of this scandal for the Government.

It was great to meet students from the University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes today as part of the NUS' national lobby day on student loans. The Government must end the unfair freeze on repayment thresholds immediately and establish a fairer way forward on Graduate Finance Reform.

I got into politics as I saw the issues with our education system from being a teacher for over a decade. One of the biggest issues in my inbox is SEND provision, and parents are crying out for change.

The Liberal Democrats believe that jury trials are the cornerstone of our justice system. Scrapping them will have little effect on the courts backlog, whilst curtailing a fundamental right. We have a plan to tackle the issues in our court system and still protect the right to trial by jury.

This week has been Children’s Mental Health Week. As Chair of the Health and Social Care Committee, mental health is an area I am extremely passionate about. I am pleased that my committee, with the Education Committee, have announced a joint inquiry into children and young people’s mental health.
