This young man set up a fitness course like he uses at football training to improve our speed! Great to see you bringing your ideas from your after school activities to us in P1!

We are immersed in the world of ‘Fairyland’ this week as we try to help the friendly dragon rebuild his home. We started by creating Jack’s beanstalk in our classroom…how amazing does it look!? 🍃

To mark the start of our new IDL topic we looked at and recreated some of the flags of European countries during outdoor learning. 🇪🇸🇫🇷🇮🇹🇵🇱

We have been further exploring measure this week, using some active learning stations to expand our knowledge of measuring weight and volume.

We have been thoroughly enjoying making use of our new and improved library. We were even lucky enough to receive a short session with Mrs Ferguson today to tell us all about our new set up. 📚

In numeracy, we learned about function machines. We used our problem solving skills to work out what the machine was doing to each number.

Outdoor learning last week we made our own shops to sell the natural resources and use our imagination for money 💰

We have been working on our data handling skills by creating tally charts to populate bar graphs 📊

We used pupil voice and padlet to talk about what we want to learn about in our new topic! 🌎

This afternoon we explored coding using micro:bits! We loved learning to use them and managed to create the flashing heart ❤️

We have been looking at different techniques to ‘show not tell’ the reader in reflective writing. We’ve been identify figurative language, the 5 senses plus thoughts and feelings📝

This afternoon, we took advantage of the dry weather. Taking our numeracy consolidation outside, participating in some active addition and subtraction games, solving calculations within 100,1000 and 10,000.

Great team work in P2. We had a paper plate and scissors and had to problem solve to see which group could make the longest plate. Well done to the boys who worked out that a spiral shape would work best!

Exploring our lovely new library area

A game of splat during our French learning always generates real enthusiasm. We aimed to beat our opponent to the answer when listening to a range of different weather phrases. 🇫🇷☀️🌧️💨

In keeping with our money focus in maths we set up our own shops during outdoor learning. We created our products to sell and decided on the value. Many children got really invested in their shopkeeper roles and used different money related terminology in their conversations.

Today during our Child Led Learning we were tasked with making a pin wheel. We worked together, helped one another and we’re really encouraging during a really tricky task! We demonstrated great problem solving and engineering skills too! 👷‍♀️👷🧑‍💻👩‍💻

We took lots of pride in what we created during ‘imagination stations’ today! Mrs Coyle was very impressed with what we came up with! 😊⭐️

This morning, we had a fantastic child lead learning morning. Demonstrating fantastic focus throughout, working hard to achieve and complete learning experiences.

We were absolutely thrilled to visit our newly refurbished library. What a fabulous space to explore books of all descriptions! 📕

Yesterday, we continued exploring measure, focussing on capacity. Using our prior measurement knowledge to brainstorm ideas and share our learning.

On Wednesday, we were exploring digital coding. Developing our skills using micro bits for the first time as a class.

On Tuesday, we were further exploring Meta Skills. Positively demonstrating our understanding of them and the impact they have.
