During our MH day, we worked with P1 to create a calm and happy environment to practise yoga and meditation 🧘.

Last week we designed a jacket for Mr Twit to wear in his garden! We then tested different materials to see what we would use for a specific purpose!

During STEM we drew The Upside Down House from our class novel ‘The Twits’ and then worked in groups to build what we drew.

We have been learning how to read o’clock and half past on an analogue and digital clock. 🕰️

We have been learning how to use the STOPP strategy to help us when we’re feeling the fizz. We came up with actions for each step and then used these in our drama scenes. #hwb #drama

We had fun learning about Scottish music. We learned about Scottish instruments and Mrs Smith’s cello. We enjoyed singing ‘Ye Cannae Shove Yer Granny Aff a Bus’. 🎶 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

PC Smith and PC Easton visited us today to tell us about how they keep the community safe and what we can do if we’re in an emergency situation. We got to try some of their equipment and explore the police van! 👮 🚐

We wrote our own Scots poems about a monster! We discussed the use of adjectives to make our sentences more exciting! 👹

We had so much fun today learning about Robert Burns, listening and dancing to Scottish music, comparing Scot’s words to english words and trying a Scottish food and drink. Safe to say, its been an exciting day learning all about our Scots language and Burns ! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We learned about the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and used watercolours to create our own artwork inspired by his famous Glasgow Rose. 🌹🎨

We had fun practising our addition through play and games! 🎲

Dressing up provocations sparked great learning this afternoon! 🦺 We explored safe vs unsafe situations, emergencies, people who helps us, and acted out scenarios through play. Some of us then captured our learning in drawings.

More reindeer dust fun in P2 ✨

Last week our elf asked us to help him make reindeer dust! We wrote our instructions down so that our elf could remember what to do! 🎅🏼 🎄

This morning our elf was wrapped in Santa’s last piece of wrapping paper! He told us Santa had run out, so we designed new wrapping paper using 2D shapes. 🎅📦

Today we made Christmas cards for those in the hospital over the festive period. A small way to bring a little cheer. ❤️🎄

Festive child-led learning today! Pupils designed symmetrical jumpers, trees, snowflakes and even LEGO Christmas toys. Loved the creativity! 🎄✨

Chip the Elf brought some objects into our class to help us learn about Christingles. We had lots of fun using the objects to make Christingles and reading about the meaning behind them! 🍊 🕯️ #RME #Reading

Today our elf Chip, left us a letter.He asked us to decorate our Christmas tree, make patterned baubles using black pen drawing and name him! What a fun filled day with our new classmate! 🎅🏼 🎄

In HWB we’ve been learning how to look after a baby. 👶 Last week we practised with our pretend babies, and this week Mrs Smith surprised us by bringing in her own baby and she answered all our questions!

We explored litres and millilitres in maths today. We discussed volume and capacity and used containers to explore what a millilitre and litre looks like. Then we estimated the volume of different objects.

We enjoyed playing the beanbag throw game whilst learning about grid references!

We discussed different jobs people could have in STEM today and then explored different activities related to these jobs 🧪 🚤 🧑‍🎨
