We had a lovely visit to Polmont Library this morning. Most children should now have a library card. They can visit the library at any time to take books home 📚

Not all achievements are in the classroom. This pupil has achieved her goal of being able to complete the monkey bars! Well done!

During Outdoor Learning, we worked with Primary 6. We were measuring the size of animals in the playground. Does your child remember how long the whale was?

We took our maths outdoors today. Pupils had to design and make a maths related game for our classmates 🔢 we had lots of fun and enjoyed some challenging questions. #mathsweekscotland

We were working on ball skills in PE today. Underarm throws, bounce passing and dribbling. Excellent coordination and focus!

Our Judo taster session was fantastic today! There are leaflets in bags with information about classes.

We enjoyed working with Primary 6 to learn new ICT skills.

We experimented with cola today to investigate what happened when we put a copper coin in it.

Some dodgeball fun in PE today 🏐

For Outdoor Learning today we did leaf art. We had to create a picture by painting and printing leaves. All the creations looked fantastic!

We have been working on the skill of trial and error, we designed paper aeroplanes and discussed how we could make them better and fly further through different folding techniques. We had great fun letting them go ✈️

Today we worked on a continuous line drawing in art to represent “running my own race”. We also used watercolours to add some detail to our drawings.

We enjoyed playing UNO wars to consolidate our place value work, and addition connect 4 using dice to practice quick recall of number bonds.

Kapla bridge designs continued…

We visited our Laurieston Lab and worked in groups to create a bridge structure using Kapla. Some excellent problem solving and group work 👍

Together with Primary 6, we explored the loose parts during Outdoor Learning.

We discussed Growth Mindset today. We started our Growth Mindset posters using Zentangle art. Watch this space to see our finished posters!

We had to work in groups to design and make a structure to hold up an egg without it falling and cracking. Great team work today, and only one cracked egg 🍳🥚😂

Look at this excellent collaborative group work happening in p5 today. We looked at the UNCRC articles and ordered them from most important to least and had great discussion about if any are more important than others. Then we matched them to the SHANARRI indicators to help us make our class charter

Today we visited our lovely new library. Our day for returning library books is a Thursday if children have chosen to take a book home 📖

Busy first day in p5!

We hope you’ve had the best summer. Mrs Campbell and Mrs Liddle are really looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow, hearing all about your holidays and starting our p5 journey 📚✏️
