In 2013, I made an essay for XOJane about being sexually harassed on a panel of my colleagues. I anonymized the harrasser, but he outed himself a couple days later, issuing a public non-apology ("Sorry you didn't get my sense of humor"), which led to his fans barraging me with hate + death threats.

I know I’m not supposed to respond to trolls, but this guy (posing with what is presumably his daughter in his facebook profile) responded rudely to my post about being sexually harassed and I couldn’t help myself

People who read my books know I have been in a looot of relationships, and while I don't regret most of them (each experience is a lesson blah blah blah), I do regret not seeing the words, "You put too much importance on ___" as an incompatibility issue rather than a moral failing.

In my 20s and 30s I supported my comics by taking on large difficult freelance creative projects or part-time easy (not creative) jobs. I work better when focusing all my energy on something, so during those large projects I’d take a comics hiatus, then switch back to all-comics or painting later.

Today I was bonding with an older Chinese-New Yorker who has lived in Japan for decades. We were getting along great until she said the only thing she agrees with T-ump about is that nonbinary people have gone too far.

It’s interesting how many people think of other people’s bodily autonomy choices as moral failings, whether it’s cosmetic surgery, abortions, the decision whether or not to wear makeup, their hairstyle, fashion decisions, etc.

Yesterday I got into a bit of an IRL altercation with a wannabe bully. He tried to hurt my feelings by telling me he couldn't tell if I'm a man or a woman. Considering I'm nonbinary, it was not the flex he thought it was. 😂
