More productivity-media-musings, since I've been listening to a lot of audiobooks lately (thx, public library!) I'm increasingly curious about who these books are FOR. They seem to thread the very specific needle of attracting a niche audience but then not telling that audience anything new?

It's weird, how even the most reasonable and brain-hack-y productivity methods rely on an unrealistic standard of self-discipline (looking at you, Atomic Habits). And the implicit shame of not being able to do these feels much worse, somehow. Like your brain is more broken than average.

This is legitimately one of the best pieces of reporting I've read in a long time. Certainly the funniest, in a laugh-so-you-dont-cry way.

Went to a silent writing event today and sort of remembered, a little bit, that I love to write. I'm hopeful that the next couple weeks remind me that I also love teaching. Living under a tenure clock for 4.5 years took so much away from me. Grateful that I have the opportunity to get it back.
