Mother missed hospital appt, bus coming up to Dublin just turned around 10km from city centre as couldn't go through. Hospital phones jammed with people from country cancelling missed appts. Not sure how this protest helps those people

I'm sick of the refrain from some groups that "Being gay isn't a phase!" I know plenty of people who experimented with being gay/bi. People should be free to explore who they are and their sexuality without being categorised forever. The goal is not to be put in a box, rather freedom. 🌈 #SpéirGhorm

Having two coffees and a hape of cigarettes for breakfast this morning. There's a niggling feeling this is the wrong thing to do but sometimes you need a bit of body and sleep destroying divilment. 😂 I blame finishing all the orange juice yesterday.

Being Irish is a state of mind and cups of tea. Plenty of people from all over the world understand Irishness at a deep intrinsic level. It's nothing to do with skin colour or birth certs.

I had a good chat with people this evening. We talked art, social welfare payments, paths to employment, someone's new qualification, ailing parents, good people standing up for others. I drank a chai latte and smoked a cigarette (or more.) A good evening. It'd be great to have more of them.

I've found myself not going out just for the taste of the coffee (or for caffeine) but to be outside. While I love coffee, and it's essential to a walk, if there was an instant coffee available in some of the places I go I'd be fine with it. Self-made instant is often better than a bad machine cup.

Nothing is perfect, that's an unreasonable expectation to have, but a laudable target to aim for. There's been times I've gotten looks, and felt on edge on the bus, the same with the train. But I was assuaged by the competency I've seen first hand from drivers and hosts. Even late night buses.

For all the complaints about public transport I have never felt unsafe on a bus or train. Walking to and from a bus, from other traffic, yes. In a car, sometimes. I'll walk rather than cycle. The efforts the staff are making needs more support. They help people who need help.

I can't quote post the last post but I want to say I played videogames during lockdown. I have a beefy computer. I don't think I need it. Switching from a gaming desktop to a low power draw micro PC that still can handle creative work is difficult and expensive. I don't need what I have, any more.

"Not everyone can-" OK but a lot of - most - people who can don't. "- wear a mask." "- drive less or not at all." We absolutely need to recognise that not everyone can but it's deeply cynical to use that to reject any change, especially while ignoring the ways failing to do it affects people now.
