1/72 B737 progress: I'm using the aftermarket 3D-printed flaps set from LACI. They are a bit warped as produced but should fit ok. Cutting the flaps out of the kit wings was nerve-wracking but I had to do it differently to the instructions to ensure the wings didn't warp. #histscalemodels

B737 build is cracking along... wheelwell interior and fuselage completed. This really is a limited run kit! Fit is generally okay but parts need a lot of preparation and the windows are terrible. Much putty will be required 🫤 #histscalemodels #scalemodels

Also showing my take on the interior colours: Dull Dark Green, Interior Green, and Zinc Chromate sidewalls which will get aluminium bracing.

Belated start to my #HeaviesGB entry but we're off at last! New nose section has been un-warped in boiling water, and almost fits the fuselage 💪 Old supercharger sections have been cut out of the engine nacelles and new ones prepared Gear legs have been installed in 'up' position with hinges.

Just watched two episodes of Alien Earth and it's really good! I like the young, cyberpunk feel of it, the world build and the homages to the former films. The three-way split of transhuman development is a good idea, as are the new creepy crawlies (the eye tentacle thing is 🤢). Hope it sustains!

Just completed this rebuild of a scrapped 1/32 Lysander. The only additions from the original were the Lewis gun and new decals. Even the crew figures were recycled 😊 very happy with the result considering what I started with! #histscalemodels #scalemodels

End of week update on the 1/400 Revell AIDAsol cruise ship. Paintwork completed, and kit decals applied. These are superb decals with excellent opacity over the white background. They went down like paint with MicroSet and Sol. Very happy with this so far, excellent kit #scalemodels

Just watched the 1980 film Raise The Titanic. Amazing how much more we know about the wreck and the story now, making the plot and the very impressive raising scene more preposterous than ever. The film might have bombed, but John Barry's musical score is excellent.

Much bs being chucked around about the Air India 787 crash. All we know so far is that this is a terrible tragedy. As the 787 is the aircraft I consider to be 'mine', I'm saddened by the first hull loss. I'm also very interested in what happened, because it's a great aeroplane.
