RE Larian and GenAI: now that we know the physical impact of LLMs and the data centers they require to run, even if trained off in-house data, there is still NO ethical way to use GenAI

I cannot stress this enough: this is not possible in a literal technological sense: you cannot train an AI and expect even comprehensible results with under ~1 million pieces of data, nobody can supply all that with the variance needed. You can only achieve it through wanton scraping

This part is REALLY insidious, there is not a functioning commercially viable LLM out there that is not trained on Laion, a data set that scraped the entirety of reddit, artstation and a thousand other places. "Ethically trained LLMs" are a total fiction/scam

Any studio that says they're only using their own assets for an A.I. model is lying to you, likely intentionally. Generative A.I. models require an insane amount of existing work to create anything that looks new and decent. Categorizing said data would take years.
