Congress just passed a $1 TRILLION WAR BUDGET! This means more $ for illegal domestic deployments and unconstitutional strikes in the Caribbean. Congress also kicked many Americans off healthcare and food assistance this year. We need a budget that invests in life, not death.

Curtis Hierro: We chose the frame oligarchy, and I always hear this when we start the training, what is this term? Who's heard of it, right? It's a very wonky thing. But we use that term and define it with our members because we think it accurately describes what is happening.

Rep. Emily Randall: We have seen the Trump administration put billionaire friends over working people every day....I'm inspired every day by working people who believe that on the other side of this we can rebuild a future that is better for all of us.

Arnold Peña Perez: Immigrant families are not the reason why working people cannot afford housing, feed their families, or pay for medical prescriptions. The greedy CEOs who rigged the rules and take advantage of workers, and the politicians who back them, are the problem.

Randi Weingarten: Schools are where you learn the habits of democracy. And authoritarians' tools are isolation, fear, and apathy. So as a result, the people against us are doing everything they can to make teachers' lives miserable.

Randi Weingarten: I kind of think about it in terms of trust and community. Solidarity, engagement – it creates the trust, both within our labor community, our teacher community, our nurse community – but also within the broader community.

Jon Schleuss: A lot of journalists are working class folks. We have a lot of members who work multiple jobs in addition to being a journalist. Some of our members can’t even afford to put enough food on their tables and they have to rely on food banks.
