Donning now my gay apparel to enjoy a couple of days off with friends and family. Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season. And if you're having trouble getting into the feeling of the season, might I suggest watching the Gay as Christmas Yuletide Special?

Stop what you're doing for two minutes and watch my friend

play you this classic holiday tune while dressed in leather. I mean, what better way to get into the holiday spirit?

This was a year of second chances. I restarted my YouTube channel (mostly from the advice of the great
@diamandahagan.bsky.social
) and now it's doing much better, and I'm having a lot more fun with it. I also restarted my alt. bluesky page... but you ain't seeing that unless I see some damn ID.

Kicking back with my favorite holiday themed horror film... 1974's Black Christmas. Not only is it one of the best horror films ever made, it's also one of the handful of movies I actually find terrifying. Halloween is fun, but this one will chill your blood.

We decided to drop one more video for 2025. It's a short film written by Robyn Guildford and directed by yours truly. It's a dark, Christmas set drama called "The Locked Door", and it's rather different than our typical fare... but I hope you enjoy it!

Just spent hours doing a complicated VFX for an upcoming episode where we create a fake trailer for a movie adaptation of The Picture of Dorian Gray, and the most depressing thought hit me -- there are going to be people who watch this who are going to think it was done with AI.

Our final episode of 2025 is deep dive look at the very spooky 1931 murder mystery "Where There's A Will, There's A Slay"! We will be back on January 9th with new episodes, and I hope you all have a lovely holiday season, and a joyous and prosperous New Year!

Every time I post a video, we lose one subscriber, and always in the first hour. (We also gain a bunch, so the numbers are always in our favor.) But I always makes me wonder why? And always just one. I keep wondering if some people can't get their heads around the format of the show. Weird.

We only have two more videos this month before we go on our holiday break until January 9th. Today we have a new episode of My Favorite Queer Movie where lavender cinema expert Warren J. Usey takes a look at the unintentionally homoerotic epic "The 10 Commandments" from 1956.

When everything is going to hell... just keep working. Got two photoshoots lined up, editing two episodes back to back, and I have five episodes of the show to plan out and film. Right now as helpless and hopeless as I feel, there's always the work to give life a sense of purpose.

Editing away on a new episode. Honestly, for 40 years editing has been my #1 way to relax, especially in soul-crushing, depressing, hopeless times such as these. There are a few cliches that are 100 percent true... and "busy hands are happy hands" always stands out as a winner.

Five minutes from me there has been a mass shooting at Brown University. There are no more safe harbors in this country. No place to go where your life, and the lives of those you love, won't be at risk. All this violence, all this madness ... just meaningless. Pointless. And nothing changes.

I have a short film I'm considering dropping on Tuesday. It was written by our head writer Robyn Guilford, and directed by yours truly. It's a Christmas-set dark drama, but it's so much darker than our normal fare, I'm afraid it might cause whiplash to our subscribers. But I'm really proud of it.

I know it's a silly thing, but I'm always so grateful for when people leave comments on the videos. It's like, "Man, you got off the sofa, chair, bed, sex sling, hot tub, fainting couch, to tell us how much you liked the video? You seriously rock." Never take this stuff for granted.

I'm glad to see more positivity about the way we talk about film - or more sensitivity even with more critical takes. The world doesn't need more negativity, and I don't want to add to it. Leaving some of that behind has even lost me people I thought were friends, but I think I'm a better person.

Yesterday my friend Ricky (You've seen him in many of the episodes of the show.) and I were playing around with lighting in the studio, and judging from the results, I think it's time we do a 70s exploitation detective film. I think I have a title -- "A Fox in Pink Furs".

I believe one of the truest signs you're doing okay is if you can still make yourself laugh with your own stupid jokes. I think I'm doing okay, all things considered. (From David and Jonathan: An Epic of Ancient Judea, coming December 12th.)

One of our subscribers suggested we do a take-off on a Valentino movie. I was like, "That's a great idea!" And then I realized I've never actually seen a Rudolph Valentino movie. So, now I'm gonna watch a bunch of 'em. If you have any suggestions on where to start, it would be appreciated!

For 2 videos in a row we've gotten a couple of comments saying that we used AI to create the film segments. I know I shouldn't let it annoy me, but a lot of work goes into the making of these, from actors, costumes, props, sets & lighting, unlike being some hack prompt jockey.
