Kicking back with my favorite holiday themed horror film... 1974's Black Christmas. Not only is it one of the best horror films ever made, it's also one of the handful of movies I actually find terrifying. Halloween is fun, but this one will chill your blood.

Just spent hours doing a complicated VFX for an upcoming episode where we create a fake trailer for a movie adaptation of The Picture of Dorian Gray, and the most depressing thought hit me -- there are going to be people who watch this who are going to think it was done with AI.

Every time I post a video, we lose one subscriber, and always in the first hour. (We also gain a bunch, so the numbers are always in our favor.) But I always makes me wonder why? And always just one. I keep wondering if some people can't get their heads around the format of the show. Weird.

Editing away on a new episode. Honestly, for 40 years editing has been my #1 way to relax, especially in soul-crushing, depressing, hopeless times such as these. There are a few cliches that are 100 percent true... and "busy hands are happy hands" always stands out as a winner.

Five minutes from me there has been a mass shooting at Brown University. There are no more safe harbors in this country. No place to go where your life, and the lives of those you love, won't be at risk. All this violence, all this madness ... just meaningless. Pointless. And nothing changes.

I have a short film I'm considering dropping on Tuesday. It was written by our head writer Robyn Guilford, and directed by yours truly. It's a Christmas-set dark drama, but it's so much darker than our normal fare, I'm afraid it might cause whiplash to our subscribers. But I'm really proud of it.

I know it's a silly thing, but I'm always so grateful for when people leave comments on the videos. It's like, "Man, you got off the sofa, chair, bed, sex sling, hot tub, fainting couch, to tell us how much you liked the video? You seriously rock." Never take this stuff for granted.

I'm glad to see more positivity about the way we talk about film - or more sensitivity even with more critical takes. The world doesn't need more negativity, and I don't want to add to it. Leaving some of that behind has even lost me people I thought were friends, but I think I'm a better person.
