A normal person, when faced with a post apocalyptic movie set in the Canadian arctic (about a little girl raised by a polar bear battling raiders on snowmobiles) wonders if its good and looks at reviews. There was an old cartoon that depicted a gay guy who was pissed off at his boyfriend for acting "too gay" and the boyfriend as a deranged homophobic Republican politician. It played off the selfhating closet case steriotype.

The IT movies would have been 1 better if when Pennywise was terrified and being defeated, it tried other clown forms to try and find one that scared the kids and one of them was Tim Currys.

This is true. Not only that but Scrooge did above the minimum expected by the system he lived in (more time off etc) and even his comments about workhouses and stuff is better than it looks. Those were the govt safety net of the day. Todays equivalent would be ARE THERE NO FOODSTAMPS.
