Today I've been talking with more of our academics about their publishing insights & experiences, as part of my ongoing community conversations to inform the Press' plans. Plus, a wonderfully insightful conversation with our Marketing web team about platforms, customer journeys and SEO.

Good morning and happy new year everyone. I'm back for the University of Warwick Press from today, which means arranging to speak with more of our lovely scholars, researchers and students about their publishing activities.

The University Press office will be closed after today until Weds 7th January. To everyone I've spoken to, or exchanged emails with, over the past three months - my grateful thanks. See you all in '26 for the next phrase of the Press project.

Coming to the end of month 3 of the University Press Strategic Review project, & it's been a hectic but revelatory journey since late September. My deepest thanks to everyone who talked with me about the press, their publishing or in offering their advice, incite and support - deeply appreciated.

Today I'm taking the time to look in detail at monograph proposal forms from some exemplar new university presses. Some excellent professional practices being spotted, alongside quite a range of differences in what each press asks prospective authors to explain.

Wonderful to talk with Philippa (LSE) and Dawn (Huddersfield) at their respective university presses this morning, to hear their insights and advice for setting up, running and configuring a successful press.

Excellent first meeting today with the Chief Editor of one of our hosted UWP journal family members. Unofficial start of my community/stakeholder engagement programme for the coming year, exploring what/how/where/why we could offer a better experience for editors, contributors & readers alike!
