For a long time in some countries, most people got married on holidays like Christmas because everyone was off work and could attend I could see that being a Zaunish tradition, getting married on days where the mines and factories were all closed

Definitely more for the council families/upper class. I think the trade classes probably wear something that is symbolic of their trade or just their nicest clothes (i.e. Sunday Best).

i can definitely see the piltover tradition involving house colors! reminds me of how in asoiaf they have the maiden cloak where the bride wears a cloak of her house sigil and after the marriage is officiated wears a new cloak of the husband's sigil

Ugh I cannot stop thinking about wedding traditions in Zaun being very Jewish. Like not so much the legal formality but you gather the people who are important to you, say some vows, and then break a glass or a bottle or something, and then have a party. But there's no rings or marriage license.

I don't see them wearing wedding dresses in the same way in the Arcane universe. In the undercity weddings are not a big affair at all, and I think in Piltover you might wear a fancy dress but in a colour that is associated with your house/family or like used to be common, Sunday Best.

The collab I'm doing with @ririsfilthyart.bsky.social is wedding themed and it's got me thinking about the way any time anyone (myself included) uses a real-world tradition in Arcane how it might have come about in their universe. Like the white wedding dress was popularized by Queen Victoria. +
