Five little things I’m enjoying about being back in school again: 1 Planning lessons. 2 Seeing children motivated by learning. 3 Conversations with colleagues and the camaraderie of a department base. 4 Hearing, “Hi sir,” as you walk along a corridor. 5 Having a tutor group.

It turns out that teaching your own son is an interesting experience. Not a bad review: “I actually learned something and my friends thought you were nice.” I’ll take that at the end of week one. In other good news: neither of us died of embarrassment.
