I once ran into @richarddare.bsky.social on the stairs. We exchanged introductions, then went in opposite directions. It was only afterwards I realised what had happened.

A year or so ago a Question Time audience member suggested the NHS could save millions by having doctors & nurses do quizzes at start of annual mandatory training courses - and only make you do it if you fail. I think it could go for most jobs tbh.

I just wrote this for a project I am working on and it basically sums up the last 4 years of my life working in school improvement

In medicine, law, engineering etc, are there people who arent practising doctors, lawyers, engineers writing books and giving keynotes about how it's done? Punditry by non practitioners seems fine in sports, which is fundamentally entertainment. But is it in education?

Now the winner ot the FIFA peace prize has launched missiles at two more countries I'm sure they'll reconsider the decision. Seems almost corrupt in retrospect.

Well, they’re on their way (they set off at 8.26, he left a message) and our house is winding up in the usual fashion; everything has been cleaned, wiped, hoovered, dusted, ironed, put away. But now we have a serious issue, because we can’t find the Christmas place mats. Bedlam.
