Our 2year old son is growing fast, and he keeps abducting tons of components from the table, so it’s getting harder to play board games! (But it’s wonderful that he’s growing and showing interest in board games.) So ROOT has mostly become digital play for us.Lately, my wife has been way too strong!

The dogs from Spots and the penguins from Ice Cool are also designs I really love, and they perfectly match my taste.

The Woodland Alliance’s Sympathy tokens I lost last time are still missing… So this time I labeled and counted every bag of pieces. My handwriting is awful, so my wife rewrote them—teamwork! Now ROOT is ready to travel anywhere again!

I finished translating ROOT’s new Homeland Expansion into Japanese. After the latest update, we did a family test play! Lilypad Diaspora managing their enclaves is fun! Knaves of the Deepwood changed a lot and became an incredibly fun faction—the best! Hope you try it!

I collaborated with Banjirou, a Japanese board game quiz creator, to make a beginner-friendly quiz about ROOT’s rules and world! We handed it out for free—and people loved it! 🌳✨

I contacted Leder Games to request a replacement for my lost token. Until it arrives, I’ll use one from my backup ROOT set! I even have an unopened spare now, so I can keep playing with family and friends with peace of mind!

The saddest thing this year just happened. I lost one of my beloved Woodland Alliance tokens from my portable ROOT set. Since individual replacement parts aren’t sold in Japan, it means I can’t even play with the faction anymore. I don’t know how I’ll recover from this heartbreak…

I love the original map design, but the new one looks amazing too! Every update video brings another exciting reveal, and it’s making me even more excited for the new ROOT expansion to arrive at our home!
