I have an odd soft spot for John Frankenheimer's Ronin (1998) - the cast is great (Sean Bean lives!); the script is sharp (and tells you no more than you need to know - not clear how much of that is Mamet's work); and, somehow, action thrillers are usually all the better for being set in Europe.

Does Keir Starmer combine the moral and intellectual depth of Tony Blair with the political cunning and presentational flair of Gordon Brown?
