I am really struggling to make ends meet lately. I haven't opened up for commissions yet because I feel I haven't finished enough off of my list, and rent is officially late after the 5th. Going to start a shop sale ASAP, and open for some smaller cheaper commissions that I can do as dailies.

Guess I'm as qualified to comment here as anyone, having made my "rep" on historical narrative. Not buying the accusation of plagiarism with which the prof and her allies are filling Bluesky, as I've detailed in other posts. But Tillie and D&Q made a few key mistakes that would have prevented this.

I think this is a good and compassionate take from Keezy. However, publishing contracts usually contain clauses that specifically say any accusations of academic misconduct, plagiarism, inaccuracy etc are on you, the author, not on them, the publisher. Here is what I think happened--

i read PERSEPOLIS in a mall Borders as a preteen in 2003. it explained the war better than my school. some of it went over my head but much more did not, thanks to stark, clear cartooning that so effectively conveyed rage, compassion and a determination for justice. rest in peace, Marjane Satrapi.
