I went for a ride through Townshend and Grafton (VT) today. Saw thunderheads reflected in a beaver pond, and visited the beautiful and peaceful Burgess Cemetery.

My writing muse kidnapped me and has held me for ransom the last 4 days. Over Thursday and Friday I wrote 98pp - hand-written double spaced pages. Yesterday I typed up most of it and finished today, 49pp, over 14,000 words. Mind you, it's the first I've seriously written in months.

Its just over a week since my store closed, and I still feel so exhausted. I feel as though the stress and dread of the final 2.5 months of business poisoned me, and I haven't got my strength back. At least I haven't cried in the last 2 days; I guess that's something.

Today is the last day the store will be open. 26 years coming to a close today. There will be 4 days of packing and removal of fixtures and furniture, and then it's over. I don't think I have quite absorbed the finality of it yet. 😢
