I agree. A quote I keep coming back to is one by Simon Egenfeldt-Nielson a game is just an excuse for a conversation. As Jorge has said elsewhere here ... it's the bit that Carries over elsewhere we can assess. But not the play itself.

I've used biscuits with students to get them to explore critical thinking and the differences between decribing, analysngy, critquin and evauation a cookie. #LTHEchat

A6. Student feedback. Depends on topic really as some lend themselves to alignment to assessment. Playful can be used to breakup a ‘heavy’ challenging topic but not directly aligning to any assessment just about an experience. #LTHEchat

A6. Playful learning should be purposive and grounded in learning outcomes which should make it possible to assess how far these have been achieved through effective plenaries as well as student feedback eg clarity points and muddiest points #LTHEchat

Also convincing others to try it even if you have proved it works. As you have said they often feel like you are trying to force a change and so dig their heels in.

#lthechat A2 I used playful learning a lot with fellow delegates at conferences like the #Seda conference, working on the assumption that most people there are usually up for it. I think my favourite one was using fabric pens on white T-shirts to explore personal self development priorities

Q2: Yes increased engagement and fun as others have said but also I think they can promote honesty and reflection - seen real benefits of Lego from externalizing emotions for example. Makes it easier to have difficult discussions #LTHEChat
