The very deliberate blocking Urasawa does here to express visual ideas in a very subjective experiential sense is so good. Two characters standing on the ends of these giant pipes, talking. From that above page, you get to this, the lad staring down a pit, and feeling lost within it. Delicious.

Love the way that balloon-tail extends out like a blade slicing into the poor lad with that statement. Just an absolute rapier to his soul given who he is and what he does. Placed right across his neck like a revelation about to behead him from the back.

Adachi's so good. Both terrific cartoonists. Also interesting to note that both, as well as Matsumoto, did Sports series. Such a great exercise in practicing refinement of body-language and the subtle gestures/expressions, because it's all rooted in that.
