God, it gets so tiresome carrying a 500mm lens in my luggage, just so I can include some of the birds I meet in the vacation snapshots I share with my friends. Why can't I be like a normal person and just take selfies wherever I go? Or why can't birds just be like 10 times as large? 🐦

I think two things can be true at once. You can acknowledge that neurodivergence and mental illness deserves grace, while also acknowledging that you are not obligated to accept hurtful treatment. As a neurodivergent and mentally ill person, I understand that I don’t get a free pass to hurt people.

When I find myself getting into a pointless argument with someone, and sometimes even before it begins, I block them. It's not that I'm afraid of their ideas, it's that my time is finite and I don't want to spend it on people who can't frame a coherent argument.

Unfortunately, because of the American electoral system, small swings in the vast majority of Federal election districts simply do not matter. Putting pressure on a handful of purple districts can have vastly disproportionate effects on the outcome.
