It's biking season! I am able to get downtown from home with majority bike paths or protected bike lanes, but I had to make a 311 report about trash in the lane on Admiral though. And so much glass!

BikeShareKC put a new ebike hub closer to my house so I could ride to the BikeWalkKC Member party last night (snacks, bikes and beer!) and learn more about what the org is doing to make safer streets for the community. It was nice to meet so many folks who rely on biking and transit!

I am going to link to organizations that I know for sure are helping trans Kansans. This thread will develop slowly as I either know people or will vet them. At this point we have not heard from anyone being helped via relocation resources. These exist, but I assume they are overwhelmed.

The proposed budget would give 75% of the city’s general fund to public safety, including the Kansas City fire and police departments. This is an unsustainable budget for our city. We continue to cut services that prevent crime only to fund the KCPD who have a very poor track record!
