When we talk about player agency, there are some small things that GMs will do that throw it out the window, putting the onus on the player to either roll with it or argue because the gM ASSUMED it would be fine, like a GM assuming that a PC agreed to something they openly didn't. #TTRPG

Critical Role is basically paywalling its content behind its subscription service, Beacon. It's one of those things that was always going to happen, but it's really not designed to be anything close to attractive for people new to TTRPGs or the show.

Social media really turned a lot of people into armchair psychologists. While language being accessible is great, some people AGGRESSIVELY don't know what words mean. The way some folks engage in narcissism with progressive language looks like a toddler wearing size 14 boots to me.

It's always funny to see just how many people are willing to say something but then don't want to hear that exact same thing from other people. There's a very tangible fear and fragility around even the THOUGHT of reciprocation.

My mother was, for all intents and purposes, a military lawyer. SO MUCH made sense when I found that out a few years ago (though, for reasons™, she never talks specifics and I know enough not to ask). Now I ger why she wasn't surprised when I said at one time that I wanted to go to law school.

Having a lot of random(ish_ thoughts about religion in #TTRPGs: "Atheism" is never done well. It's awyas the deific equivalent of the chaotic neutral alignment or just being lazy/disengaged with WHY. There's almost never any spirituality in it. "Atheist" and "agnostic" aren't the same thing, y'all.

Fantasy racism and all the associated tropes are lazy writing. That shouldn't be a hot take. From a purely literary perspective, its a bastardization of what tropes are supposed to represent and how they're supposed to contribute to the whole of a story. And "lazy" is the GENEROUS read. #TTRPG
