Weak men cannot compromise. Weak men cannot build consensus. Weak men think that leadership means force. Weak men build nothing that lasts.

I take back every time I’ve ever called a dystopian novel unrealistic because I thought there was no way the world could ever actually get THAT bad.

i'll be blunt, if you are someone who is vocal about the ways that diversity efforts "divide the working class" but silent about the ways that *actual racism and discrimination* divide the working class, then i think you're just an opportunist

Trump’s Attacks on DEI Get Approval From Some in the Left Wing
Many Democrats and activists are rallying to defend diversity programs, but others say they distract from deeper efforts to address inequality.

It’s 2007. Someone tries to do speculative fiction about 2025 that describes exactly where we are today. It gets rejected by publishers for being too hackneyed and mind-numbingly stupid.

If fiction supposedly holds no value and you can only learn things from non-fiction, why is this country so bent on book banning (which includes mostly fiction)? It's almost like fiction and the themes within are based on the real world and can increase empathy and education of those that read them

I mentioned a few weeks ago that trying to revitalize language on your own is a bad idea. Now, I found a perfect example of why. I explore how both good and bad-intentions can cause equal harm to a dying language!

The Problem with Vigilante Revitalization
I want to talk more about what I've been calling "vigilante revitalization". I recently wrote a series of posts about dying languages, discussing the importance of revitalization and why it's difficult. Now, a new obstacle has come up: AI-generated books. If you're new here, or didn't see those posts, the most relevant one for understanding what I'm talking about is…

I’m not currently reading Agatha Christie by a crackling fireplace on a snowy day whilst indulging in multiple cups of tea and freshly-baked scones, so no, I’m afraid your email didn’t “find me well”.

here's my third and final post on the topic of language death. How you can help these languages! It's important to know what you're doing, so never attempt this stuff alone.

Language Death and How You Should Help
Hello again! In the last couple of weeks I've been talking about language death. This will be the last of three posts about the topic, in which I talk about how you can help with language death. It's probably not going to be entirely what you expect. If you've just found your way here, you might not have read the other two posts.
