Bear in mind that one of the authors of that book was in the byline for the Times article about Corbyn’s Terrifying Facebook Hate*, the one that a) said it was a collaborative project with “whistleblowers”, and b) we now know “the whistleblowers” were literally Morgan McSweeney himself.

Truth is the only really ground-breaking tech from the past 15 years was smartphones and there's nothing on the horizon that will make the same mark. But that won't stop tech bros from using up more and more energy to fuel AI and more and more and drinking water to cool their data centres.
