If I'm not misremembering, didn't those same journalists say Kendrick's halftime showâwhich featured a chorus of black men dressed as the American flagâwasn't political? Quite the winning streak these folks are on.

Bad Bunnyâs performance began in the plantation, featured broken electric poles, and ended by centering a hemispheric understanding of âAmĂ©ricaââamong many other thingsâand some Anglo journalists are like âhis performance wasnât political.â This is why we need to be telling our stories.

Context: this speech is from SIR THOMAS MORE, a history written, as near as scholars can tell, in the early 1600s by 6 or 7 people including Dekker, Heywood, Chettle, Shakespeare, and Munday. It was never performed, because Jacobean England was a police state and it was banned by the censor.
