I cannot do enough to stress how much money the executive class simply helps itself to, and how much it really is just that - helping themselves. Once again I say - the problem with “AAA” game dev is not “games are too expensive to make.” It’s that game execs are too expensive to pay.

For all of it's faults, when WoW decided they we were going to start deliberately making characters gay or trans, the first ones were major lore character the player has gone on dozens of adventures with like Shaw and Chromie. Literally "go big or go home." I respect that more than other RPGs.

Actually just checked, FF.Net's entire archive of 12 million fanfics is 115GB. AO3 has 7 million fanfics. AO3 would fit on a $50 thumb drive, and the amount of data sent in rich text requires extremely low bandwidth. So again: AO3's money hoarding is one big scam.

Last summer I got a chance to walk the salt marsh trail, a hiking train across a swamp where a railway used to be. Went really early in the morning, and it was gorgeous. Got back into hiking in 2024. Used to always go trudging through forests as a kid and I missed it.

My #Pokemon XY hot take is that Tierno had comedic potential as a character, and 100% should have had a useless Smeargle with 3 stat boosting dance moves and Splash. (They also could've given them Baton Pass, assuming it was an option in XY, but I think splash, which is just hopping, is on-brand.)

Went to a mega queer drag show and did a chokeslam as a raffle prize. They had a Binding of Isaac act and it was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. A good night.
