A great, albeit a tad damp, weekend in Stocksbridge. Not much love for Labour out there...

I was suspicious when Labour made zero mention of lifelong learning in their manifesto. It has now been confirmed that they don't care. In a changing world there is increasing need to upskill and reskill in the workplace, which is now a lot harder thanks to Labour.

One year ago... How time flies. Found myself in Westminster watching PMQs as rumours started to fly about a General Election. What followed was seven of the most tiring weeks of my life. But it ended with 72 Lib Dem MPs!

Stopped in on Saturday to visit the exhibition of Quilts for the Longest Day. With help from the East Ecc ward pot and Ecclesfield Parish Council, these quilts were able to be created to donate to veterans as part of VE Day celebrations.

I'm sure restricting the hiring pool of an already financially stretched sector isn't going to have knock-on issues for financially stretched councils isn't going to go badly. Not at all...

I know I said Sussex was one of the most beautiful parts of the country a few weeks ago, but rural Stocksbridge is definitely giving it a run for its money this morning.

Deeply stupid. It isn't perfect but NATO's Article 5 has kept Europe safe for decades. Trump's election should mean that we step up to the plate, not throw in the towel. If this is the future of the Green Party then I am glad I am a Lib Dem.
