The Government is currently reviewing its Banking Hub eligibility criteria - sign my petition and together we can call for better banking facilities for Ellesmere and Wem. North Shropshire's towns have so much untapped potential, but the lack of banking services holds them back.

The company in charge of emptying our public bins across North Shropshire have told me that issues will be resolved by 1st June. If that's not the case, and rubbish is still overflowing, let me know and together we'll make sure Kier plc deliver an effective service.

You won't hear it from the media, but the Liberal Democrats just had an incredible set of results. We held off Reform, won more councillors than the Greens and trounced the Conservatives Right cross the country people are backing us to deliver the real change they deserve. 🔶

I was delighted to officially open the new Banking Hub in Market Drayton earlier. While in its temporary location, the Hub was well used and a success, and it's great to see face-to-face banking make a permanent return.

Visiting Shropshire's PCAS, it's clear that the in-demand charity is providing a much-needed counselling and advocacy service to disabled people. Based in Oswestry and operating across the county, it was good to meet with Simon and the team - and on the charity's 31st birthday! 🎉

Even if you can get to the station at Whitchurch, it isn't accessible to everyone, so no wonder people choose to use the car. If people are to truly realise the benefits the railway can bring, we need step-free access to both platforms there.

The consultation for the pylon plan into North Shropshire has been questionable at best. The power lines are supposed to connect to a substation but there isn't even a proposal for that yet. We are expecting it later this year - how can we be reassured it’s not already a done deal?

The proposal to take a train service from Wrexham, through Shropshire and the Midlands to London is a good one. Yet Oswestry - one of the largest towns in North Shropshire and the county - has no station and can't benefit from the many positives the service would bring.

The previous government left our NHS on its knees, with doctors working under increased pressure. We also know how difficult the public finances are after years of Conservative mismanagement - so a 26% increase for resident doctors just doesn't seem realistic at the moment.

Alistair Carmichael MP chairs the committee that scrutinises the Government on farming, so it was good to introduce him to farmers from across North Shropshire this week. He heard first-hand the challenges they’re currently facing, and how this Labour Government is failing farmers.

We all know the roads in Shropshire aren't good enough. Year after year of managed decline has taken its toll. This is rightly a key priority for the council, which must make sure it moves the highways contractors away from quick-fire repairs to instead deliver long-term prevention.

Today we welcomed the Casey Commission to North Shropshire so they can better understand how adult social care is delivered in rural areas. Social care is often forgotten about, but getting it right is crucial for fixing our NHS and giving elderly and vulnerable people the dignity they deserve.

We need OFCOM to keep the pressure on Royal Mail, to make sure it’s putting the resources in place to enable letters to be delivered on time. In rural places like North Shropshire, a letter can be a lifeline.

People are rightly worried sick about the massive jump in the cost of purchasing heating oil. This is not a luxury – for the more than 15,000 people in North Shropshire currently off-grid, buying oil to heat their homes is a necessity.
