Fuel poverty is more than twice as common among people aged 16-24 than it is for older people. This is a cold country right now.

Hampshire's top order is an absolute disgrace this season - collectively and individually, they are just failing every match. And yet they are all guaranteed their place. Hard to see how we salvage the season, if failure has no consequence...

Am worried about
@hampshirecricket.bsky.social
this season - so far off the standard, with the bat, that could easily drop a division in the Championship, and fail abysmally in the 50 and 20 over games too. Don't understand picking exactly the same failing too order, every single match...

I've written about what dying typically looks like - not as a 'pro' or 'anti' AD piece, but in the spirit of confronting a taboo. We've lost the easy familiarity with the patterns of dying that existed when death typically occurred in people’s own homes. Let's talk about it 🙏

Maybe because middle class women of a certain age are in a position to call out this shit without fear of losing a salary they need. And can do it on behalf of young women starting out in their careers who are just as sick of this shit but can’t say anything because they need to earn a living.

Heading to London today rather than very early tomorrow, for the
@bennettoxford.bsky.social
Conference, seemed like such a good idea, until I read the words "Rail Replacement Bus"... Obviously no sane person actually DOES that, so now catching the stupidly slow train via Beastleigh instead!

If you've been wondering where I went: my team in Oxford (60 of us!) build beautiful tools for NHS data. We help researchers work on the whole nation's GP records while protecting - provably - everyone's privacy. It's big potatoes!
