Team selection and positional tweaks don't matter when you've trained the press and passing/buildup patterns out of a squad and to all appearances haven't bothered to put anything new in their place beyond an insistence on stale possession recycling.

Well, based on that first half we aren't getting a more enjoyable flavour of Liverpool football in 2026

We have such a good squad but it just feels like we're individuals in a way we never were in the past. Wirtz, Hugo, and Frimpong have all had some brilliant individual moments but like why is everyone else just kinda chilling watching them like do we not train passing patterns and transitions?

Our entire tactical approach to scoring appears to be "let's see if Ekitike can do a madness?" and it works just often enough at the moment we're getting results without having a tactical approach beyond "let's see if Ekitike can do a madness?" but I'm not convinced that's sustainable long-term.
