Seriously Google? How does your "AI" get "but has also faced criticism for publishing AI-generated stories" from the countless news stories written about us NOT WANTING GENERATED STORIES and actively fighting against them. Oh wait, it's not actually intelligent, is it? Just bullshit all the way down

OpenAI says it has proof that Deepseek used its work without permission to create something meant to undermine and destroy its product. On behalf of all the authors whose novels and stories were taken as training data, oh no that must be so hard for you.

Hi! I'm Alan, a horror writer from Tasmania. Talking Scared podcast called me "The Lord of Weird Australia" which I've always liked. This is Horror called me, "Australia's master of literary darkness." I like that too! The graphic below shows all my stuff. Learn more here:

Author/horror friends, please be wary of
@caitlinmarceau.bsky.social
and her publishing imprint Hedone Books. She took over DarkLit earlier this year and owes authors and editors there a lot of money but isn't paying up. She blocks anyone who queries her about it. Do your due diligence.

This is part of the fight we are having - it’s not a great piece because it misses the core - 8 weeks before the end of the transition period Sweden changed a national law which contradicted the Withdrawal Agreement. During the transition period Brits were told by Migrationsverket

The intrusion of AI will demand writers (and editors, artists, anybody who makes anything) forcibly push back and stand firm against this wood chipper that just wants to turn your work into sawdust that can be used to make mediocre artistic particleboard. To remind:

Generative A.I. For Writers: An Unfolding (But Not Inevitable) Nightmare!
I have seen the sentiment around that generative AI for writers and artists is “inevitable,” which is a message that I think falls right in line with the myth of the starving artist …

Now reading: Dourado, by David Wood. It's Indiana Jones, but direct-to-video and can't decide if aliens or God is the real mystery. Doesn't really matter. Lots of action, some fun setpieces, just don't try to think too hard and you'll have a good time as our heroes hunt down Goliath's sword.

Things that drive me nuts. Even though that newbie author was crazy for one-starring reviews it still pisses me off that Goodreads still allows this behavior of accounts one starting books not even for sale yet. This behavior on GR is rampant.
