The romance novel I am reading has two male characters, one a big asshole and one a lesser ass, obsessing over "owning" the female protagonist body and soul. One of them is the clear romantic winner. This is written by a woman. This confirms, once and for all, that I really don't understand women.

Speaking of im-sim adjacent stuff, I am downright upset that Rhell only has ~120 user reviews so far. It's a fantastic, beefy game. Like Scribblenauts by way of Baba Is You. A world full of problems and SO many verbs to solve them with. Also challenge modes, a built-in randomizer and more.

I quit Red Dead Redemption 1 out of sheer boredom with only a couple missions to go, and I don't regret that because I really did not like the writing or the game, but a part of me misses the horseshoes mini-game. I...I miss the horseshoes. 😥

Got asked if I ever buy a book without intending to read it. The answer is "yes". When an indie I dig releases an ebook under $6, I'll buy it to support financially, even if it isn't my normal thing. Usually this is a horror release, as I'm not a horror guy, but a lot of horror authors are groovy.

Gonna start referring to PoI books as "adventures" to try and convince people they don't need to be read in order (i.e. The latest Bartender adventure, Whiskey Warfare!). Got everyone onboard except our Intern, Jerry, who calls them "adventurezines" and I'm like "FFS Jerry! Stop inventing words!"

Matty does a great write-up over at the Pit on a favorite here in the PoI Bullpen: Showdown in Little Tokyo. I've always wondered what Lester's original version was like, but there's not one wasted minute in the released film. Big dick energy, indeed.
