Staff writer at TheGamer, professional Persona player, occasional baker, lover of funk music ✌🏻
pinned post!
Now seems like a good time to introduce myself, seeing as I never did, oops. My name is Gabrielle! I’ve been a gaming journalist for four years now and do a bit of everything - reviews/previews, interviews, events, and evergreen content. And I love me some baking, anime, and funk music, too! 🕺🏻

I’d say that this has been a really stupid week to work in the gaming industry, but it’s a little redundant when that seems to be just literally every week these days…

I know this is not the biggest concern going these days, but it stresses me out that basically every artist/writer/critic is now expected to create their own tiny empire instead of getting paid by any existing entity to perform a job they've worked to get good at!!!!

Hey, everybody. I uh. Hate that I have to do this. I'd always hoped I never would. But after what's gone on with work, I'm officially At That Point. So, if you could share this around, I'd be deeply appreciative. Thanks.

This weekend is a frustratingly bizarre one in this girl’s life overall (I’m a gaming journalist - iykyk), but at least it’s my first anniversary with my boyfriend and I have time off for a few days to spend with him to celebrate ❤️

Unfortunately, my time as an Editor for
TheGamer.com
has come to an end. I met some of the best coworkers I've ever had there, I learned and grew a lot. If anyone is looking for a journo, especially for guides, reviews, VR, horror, and farming RPGs, I'd love to hear from you.

Valnet unfortunately let go of the entire TheGamer features team today alongside several other staff members. Many incredibly talented and hard working writers I've had the pleasure of working with over the past several years.

In light of being laid off from TheGamer today, I don't intend to let my passions die out. I'll continue to create work independently, and keep that excitement for whatever opportunities come my way in the future. This was a dream career, and I'm not done with it yet.
