On replay, AC Brotherhood is definitely one of the weaker games in the series. It gives Ezio a lot of character, but the missions are frustrating and Rome is kind of boring to play in. Definitely looking forwards to getting past it and into Revelations.

AC Brotherhood is such a strange game. Very much the ambling middle part of the trilogy with bizarre pacing, and the art style is slightly more cartoony which is... a choice... but it also introduces a lot of cool things like the Borgia Towers and an emphasis on a single city.

It's funny how the first 2 Assassin's Creed and Kingdom Hearts games have a lot in similar Both AC1 and KH1 have very good first instalments that have the simplest, arguably best, stories and are amogn the shortest in their series. They're also incredibly unpolished compared to what came later.

My heart is utterly broken for everyone who got laid off today, I don't have the words to express how angry and scared this makes me. TG will never be the same, and it sucks.

In light of being laid off from TheGamer today, I don't intend to let my passions die out. I'll continue to create work independently, and keep that excitement for whatever opportunities come my way in the future. This was a dream career, and I'm not done with it yet.

Unfortunately, my time as an Editor for TheGamer.com has come to an end. I met some of the best coworkers I've ever had there, I learned and grew a lot. If anyone is looking for a journo, especially for guides, reviews, VR, horror, and farming RPGs, I'd love to hear from you.

I'll also say, and I'm sure this won't be the last laid-off TG staff member whose greatness I highlight today, but @hallafyre.bsky.social brings the sort of visionary spirit to a workplace that so many sites would benefit from. Sam sees things that I never would, and shapes them into fine words.

I just want us to be respected. Is that so much to ask for? For the industry to in any way care for the talent that creates your profits? I was physically shaking with anger and sadness earlier. I just want us to be happy doing our jobs. I never felt like that was much to ask

One of my big reservations re: hybrid mana in Commander is that it was a big part of Lorwyn's identity, and we're returning there next year. I don't think Commander rules should be changed just to fit upcoming releases, same as allowing Vehicles and Spaceships ahead of EoE.

Always fun in an industry with decreasing mentorship and constant layoffs, where your readership constantly harasses you, for high-profile journalists like Gene Park to dismiss entire websites and the work they do, only adding to the dogpiling and noise.

All euphemisms for dying are bad. "Unalived" is the obvious one, but even things like "passed away", "passed on", "gone to a better place", and just "gone" shouldn't be used. They reinforce death as something we shouldn't talk about, and can be a unintentionally cruel source of confusion.

Gekkomon from Beatbreak is the cutest main partner Digimon and it isn't even close.

I've been replaying Assassin's Creed Mirage, and I think I was too harsh on it when it came out. Switched it to Arabic language and turned on the option to fade out music when the calls to prayer start and I'm vibing with it a lot more. Especially after Shadows and its dead-as-hell-feeling world.
