This is a good point being made for the separation of high speed express lines from commuter lines. HS2 needs to be completed in full and extended to at least Carstairs to allow more stopping services.

Very happy to see this happening. The consultation document for the Burns Stations stated that services would be run by either TfW or GWR. Never understood how anyone would think GWR would be politically acceptable.

Normal pricing Abergavenny to Bridgend return Β£24.30 (Anytime fare source TfW app). Payg was already offering great value for many passengers this offer makes it better. Just a pity GWR don't want to play ball. (Cross-country quite happy to accept Payg passengers)

Cycling in Copenhagen is great but I've yet to work out how to turn left. Straight on, no problem, turn right is easy peasey. But can I figure out how I'm supposed to turn left? Doesn't help that cycle routes don't exist at home in Newport.

Well that's been a good day. Newport to Amsterdam by train. First trip on the Eurostar for me! Easy, great journey only let down by GWR cancelling the first leg of the journey making things just a bit tight for time!

Not just nationalisation. Public ownership is the first step we need to take to make our railways work for all 68 million of us and not just a hand full of greedy share holders. We want the power put in our hands.

Is this how new serious journalism going to work from now on? An online subscription model with some additional ad revenue, focusing only on the most hard hitting stories? Less clickbait more holding to account.

It wasn't that having my own kids radicalized me. It was spending time with kids that did. Those blissful little idiots can not comprehend the dangers that adults force on them. It is unfair and needs stop. "We ask kids to be safe so adults can be dangerous"

This stuff shouldn't even be up for debate; we also need to stop the fines flowing to the Treasury, they need to stay with local police - council partnerships for investment in better street design in the communities blighted by criminals.

One of the fun things about cycling on the shared use pavements (yes pavements because we don't have proper cycle tracks) is having to weave between pedestrians and guess which side to pass oncoming cyclists. Occasionally one will yell at you to keep left when the gap is on the right.

It's been an impressive few weeks for the Starmer government. Firstly, showing off their transphobia. Secondly, being accused by Louise Haigh of being deeply sexist and finally Starmer gets to his feet to declare he's also an admirer of Enoch Powell. You have to wonder what next.

I'm in no way capable of assessing the claims made in this article but the argument is very convincing. We shall see. As a physicist I always had my doubts that the full reusable concept was viable. The cost of launching the extra fuel required for braking must be immense.
