I can't stress Chicago's amazing restraint enough. We are showing up in impressive numbers, but not physically attacking these bullies, despite constant provocation. In EVERY situation I've observed in Chicago, ICE attacks protestors first, often without any discernible tactical reason or warning.

As a Mennonite, scratch that, as a moral human being, I cannot disagree with this enough.

What has been one of the biggest forces for social progress in the United States? The Black Church. There is a reason many Black Codes in the South prevented Black people from worshipping and organizing together. The same goes with Catholic workers protecting migrants at the border.

Without taking anything away from her courage, #BishopBudde is less rare than people think. There's lots of clergy out there in the trenches advocating for our neighbors. But as we see, MAGA *HATES* them, & will do anything to suppress their visibility. Allies of all sorts, let's find each other!
